Doesn’t running a half marathon in the Portuguese capital sound awesome? The half marathon in Lisbon is an annual event, normally arranged in March every year. Would you like to discover Lisbon differently? This is your chance!

A half marathon is a wonderful way to get to know a city. Not only is it an excuse to visit Lisbon, but you can run in your own tempo, look at the surroundings, and have a great time. Another positive thing is that preparing for a half marathon is way easier than a full one. If you really want to run a full marathon in Lisbon, that can also be done, but that is normally in October every year.

If you have some running experience, you can easily make changes and be well-prepared for a half marathon. Keep on running 5-10 kilometers a couple of times a week, and then from time to time, boost the distance to 15km and then boost it to 21km. In between the longer distances, keep running the shorter distances. You will quickly notice that your body is well prepared, and you should be capable of running the half marathon in Lisbon.

How much does it cost to participate in Lisbon Half Marathon?

The price to take part in Lisbon Half Marathon is 60 euros. Registration can be done here.

There is also a 10km Vodafone race, costing 40 euros.

It is important to note that lots of streets will be closed because of the half marathon. As a result, it is required that all participants reach the finish line within 3 hours and 30 minutes because after that, all roadblocks are removed and traffic returns as usual to Lisbon.

Where does the Lisbon half marathon start?

You will not be alone as more than 35,000 people participate in this race. But, it is still important to be ready when the start signal is given. The start is from Bridge 25 de Abril, the famous bridge in Lisbon. It is important to notice that you need to use public transportation to cross the bridge. If you prove you are a marathon runner, you can use public transportation in Lisbon for free, which is quite easy. Be sure to pay attention to details closely to get to the start point on time.

Lisbon half marathon 2026

Date and time: March 8

Lisbon is a city that feels like music all on its own.

Its steep cobblestone streets, iconic yellow trams, soulful fado drifting out of tiny restaurants, and the Atlantic breeze coming in from the river make Portugal’s capital one of the most unforgettable destinations in Europe.

And in May 2026, Lisbon becomes even more exciting:

Bad Bunny is coming to the city for two massive stadium concerts.

This won’t be just another tour stop.

It will be a global reggaeton celebration under the Portuguese night sky — one of the hottest concert weekends of the year.

Lisbon Concert Essentials 🎟️

Here are the most important details right away:

Venue: Estádio da Luz

Venue capacity: ~65,000

Concert Dates: May 26 & May 27, 2026

Tickets: You can find seats through Viagogo

Viagogo is a global ticket marketplace where fans can safely look for resale tickets, especially when official seats sell out quickly or demand spikes close to the event.

Bad Bunny in Lisbon is expected to be one of the most in-demand shows of the entire European tour, so securing tickets early is highly recommended.

Why Lisbon Is the Perfect City for Bad Bunny 🌊🎶

Bad Bunny’s music is pure energy and emotion combined.

One moment it’s a club anthem, the next it’s a raw, vulnerable ballad — Caribbean warmth mixed with modern urban edge.

Lisbon has the same kind of magic:

historic and romantic during the day

vibrant and electric at night

full of contrasts, culture, and passion

It’s hard to imagine a better European backdrop for a Bad Bunny concert.

Picture the atmosphere:

warm Atlantic air

tens of thousands of fans singing Spanish lyrics

stadium lights glowing above the city

reggaeton bass rolling through the night

Lisbon isn’t just hosting a concert.

Lisbon is becoming part of the tour’s story.

Bad Bunny’s Rise: From Puerto Rico to Global Stadium Icon 👑

Bad Bunny isn’t just a pop star.

He is one of the most transformative artists in modern music.

Born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio in Puerto Rico, he didn’t come up through the traditional industry pipeline. His early tracks spread through SoundCloud and underground Latin trap circles before the mainstream even realized what was happening.

Then came the breakthrough:

Latin trap went global

reggaeton dominated the charts

Bad Bunny became the face of a new cultural wave

He proved that Spanish-language music doesn’t need to adapt to English pop formulas to conquer the world.

He filled stadiums without compromising his identity.

Bad Bunny has become the voice of a generation demanding freedom, authenticity, and real emotion in global pop culture.

The Super Bowl 2026 Controversy That Made Him Even Bigger 🏈🔥

Bad Bunny’s popularity exploded even further after his unforgettable Super Bowl 2026 performance.

The show was bold, unapologetically Latin, and filled with cultural pride — one of the most talked-about halftime moments in years.

Then came the backlash.

Donald Trump publicly criticized Bad Bunny’s performance, attacking its style and turning it into a political headline.

But instead of damaging his career…

It made him even bigger.

The controversy fueled massive online attention, millions of new streams, and even more global interest in the tour.

Suddenly, people who had never listened to reggaeton before were asking:

“Who is Bad Bunny — and where can I see him live?”

Why Americans Are Traveling to Europe for These Shows ✈️🇺🇸

Another major reason demand is so extreme in 2026:

Bad Bunny is largely boycotting concerts in the United States, with the Super Bowl being the rare exception.

That means American fans who want the full tour experience are now doing something unusual:

They’re flying to Europe.

Lisbon is no longer just a Portuguese concert stop.

It’s a global meeting point.

In May 2026, Lisbon will be packed with:

Portuguese fans

travelers from Spain and France

Latin American visitors

and huge groups of Americans making this the trip of a lifetime

Bad Bunny isn’t just touring Europe.

He’s turning Europe into the center of the music world.

Estádio da Luz: Portugal’s Legendary Stadium 🏟️

The concerts take place at the iconic:

Estádio da Luz, home of Benfica.

It’s one of Europe’s most impressive stadiums, holding around 65,000 people and famous for its electric atmosphere.

Bad Bunny at Estádio da Luz is the perfect combination:

Portuguese stadium energy

a Latin superstar at his peak

and a summer night that feels like a festival

How to Get There

The stadium is located in northern Lisbon and is easy to reach by:

metro (Blue Line to Colégio Militar/Luz)

taxis and rideshares

buses from the city center

Arrive early — the area will be extremely busy.

Bad Bunny Exploring Lisbon: What Would Suit Him Here? 🌅🎨

Bad Bunny is more than a musician — he’s also a fashion icon and visual storyteller.

If he had a free day in Lisbon, you could easily imagine him loving:

1. Alfama: The Soul of Lisbon

Narrow streets, historic buildings, and unforgettable views over the Tagus River.

2. Belém: History by the Water

Belém Tower and the Jerónimos Monastery are must-see landmarks.

3. LX Factory: Urban Creativity

Street art, trendy cafés, design shops — total Bad Bunny vibes.

4. Sunset at a Miradouro 🌇

Lisbon has some of the best viewpoints in Europe, perfect for golden-hour inspiration.

Things to Do in Lisbon Around the Concert 🎫🏛️

Turn your concert trip into a full Lisbon weekend.

Top attractions include:

Belém Tower

Jerónimos Monastery

São Jorge Castle

Time Out Market for food lovers

A ride on the famous Tram 28

Late May is already peak season, so booking ahead is essential.

What to Eat Before the Concert 🍤🥘

Portugal is a food paradise, and Lisbon delivers unforgettable flavors.

Try:

bacalhau (Portuguese cod dishes)

pastéis de nata from Belém

fresh seafood by the river

grilled sardines at a local restaurant

Concert night tastes even better with Portuguese cuisine.

Tips for the Perfect Bad Bunny Weekend in Lisbon 🗓️

✅ Book hotels early (May is extremely popular)
✅ Stay near a metro line for easy stadium access
✅ Arrive at the venue hours before showtime
✅ Don’t wait on tickets — Viagogo often has options as demand rises
✅ Plan at least one extra day for sightseeing

Are you ready to celebrate music at one of the biggest music festivals in the world? Lisbon is a city known for fantastic music festivals and together with the annual NOS Alive festival, Rock in Rio is the highlight for most of the music lovers in the country. The festival is arranged in Parque Tejo, not far from Parque das Nacoes, and other popular areas in Lisbon.

Rock in Rio Lisboa is a music festival that brings people together through the power of music and celebration. The festival’s main goal is to create a vibrant and inclusive space where people from all walks of life can come together to enjoy a diverse range of musical performances.

The first edition of Rock in Rio Lisboa took place in 2004, and since then, it has become a much-anticipated event in Portugal. The festival is part of the larger Rock in Rio franchise, which originated in Brazil in 1985. Over the years, Rock in Rio Lisboa has grown in popularity, attracting music enthusiasts from Portugal and around the world.

One of the festival’s key features is its diverse lineup, featuring a wide array of music genres to cater to different tastes. From rock and pop to electronic and indie, Rock in Rio Lisboa ensures there’s something for everyone. The festival showcases both local and international talent, making it a melting pot of musical experiences.

One of the notable aspects of Rock in Rio Lisboa is its commitment to social and environmental responsibility. The festival organizers actively promote sustainability initiatives, encouraging attendees to adopt eco-friendly practices. Through partnerships with various organizations, Rock in Rio Lisboa aims to make a positive impact on the community and the environment.

Rock in Rio Lisboa 2026

Dates: June 21-22, June 27-28.
Location: Parque Tejo

Who will come to Rock in Rio Lisboa 2026?

Linkin Park and more.

How much does it cost to buy a ticket for Rock in Rio Lisboa?

The price of a daily ticket is approximately 85 euros, or at least that was the price in 2024. We will find out later what the price will be in 2026.

Are there any good hotels or apartments in the area?

Lisbon is a city full of apartments and great hotels. It is always a question whether the best is to live close to the festival area and then travel to the city center from time to time, or if you’d rather live in the city center and then go to the festival area when you have a ticket? If you are planning on being there several days, it is useful to live close to the park, because the program lasts for 12-14 hours, so you will not have a lot of spare time for sightseeing before or after the concerts.

      })();

Take a look at the map above to see great accommodation options with price examples. You can zoom in and out on the map if you want to see even more accommodation options near the festival area for Rock in Rio Lisboa.

How can I get to the festival area?

If you have a lot of energy, it is approximately 10km between the city center of Lisbon and the festival area for Rock in Rio Lisboa. Would you rather get it done in a faster way and without burning so many calories? The easiest method for traveling to this area is by using the metro. You need to travel almost all the way towards the airport on the red line and get off the metro at either Moscavide (nearest stop) or at the stop Oriente. This is a beautiful area in Lisbon, so walking here is worth doing even if you are not planning on going to the actual festival.

Are there any other events in Lisboa that I should experience?

When Linkin Park returns to Portugal as part of the legendary Rock in Rio Lisboa festival, it won’t just be another concert. It will be a full-scale summer explosion of guitars, nostalgia, new energy, and tens of thousands of fans singing every word under the Lisbon sky. 🌅🎸

Lisbon has hosted massive concerts before, but Rock in Rio Lisboa always feels different. It’s bigger. Louder. More international. And on 21 June 2026, Linkin Park will headline one of the most anticipated nights of the entire festival.

Linkin Park Concert in Lisbon – Essential Information

Venue: Parque Tejo Lisboa (Rock in Rio Lisboa Festival Grounds)

Venue capacity: Approx. 80,000+ (festival format)

Concert Date & Time: 21 June 2026 – Evening headline slot

Tickets: Available via Viagogo

For the complete and official tour schedule, make sure to check the full list of dates on the official Linkin Park tour page.

From Santiago de Compostela to Lisbon – The Iberian Tour Route

Before arriving in Lisbon, the band performs in Santiago de Compostela from 18–20 June 2026 as part of O Son Do Camiño. That gives them just a single day to transition to Portugal.

The distance between Santiago and Lisbon is approximately 460 km, making logistics relatively smooth for a major touring production.

Most likely scenario:

✈️ Band members: Private charter flight directly to Lisbon Airport (around 1 hour 15 minutes).
🚛 Production crew & equipment: Overnight trucking via the A3 and A1 highways.

Given the scale of Rock in Rio Lisboa, much of the heavy staging infrastructure will already be in place before the band even arrives.

After Lisbon – Next Stop: Madrid

Lisbon is not the final Iberian stop.

After their Rock in Rio Lisboa performance on 21 June 2026, Linkin Park heads back to Spain for two major arena shows in:

Madrid, Spain – Auditorio Miguel Ríos

23 June 2026

24 June 2026

These Madrid concerts, featuring special guests Clipse & Phantogram, represent a more focused stadium-style setup compared to the festival atmosphere in Lisbon.

Following Madrid, the band continues its European journey to:

Florence, Italy – Visarno Arena (26 June 2026)

Werchter, Belgium – Werchter Parklife (28 June 2026)

Lisbon therefore acts as a pivotal midpoint in a tightly scheduled Southern European run.

Rock in Rio Lisboa – A Festival with Global Legacy

Rock in Rio originally launched in Brazil in 1985 and expanded to Lisbon in 2004. Since then, Rock in Rio Lisboa has grown into one of Europe’s most respected and internationally attended music festivals.

Hosted at Parque Tejo Lisboa, the festival grounds are purpose-built for massive crowds and high-end production. With space for over 80,000 attendees per day, it offers:

🎤 World-class staging

🎆 Spectacular light and fireworks shows

🌍 A truly international audience

🍴 Extensive food courts and themed areas

Over the years, Rock in Rio Lisboa has welcomed global superstars across rock, pop, and alternative genres. Linkin Park’s emotionally powerful and production-heavy performance style makes them a perfect match for the festival’s scale.

What Makes the Lisbon Show Unique?

There is something special about a Lisbon summer evening.

The golden light over the Tagus River. The warm Atlantic breeze. The relaxed but passionate Portuguese crowd.

When songs like “Numb,” “In the End,” or “What I’ve Done” echo across Parque Tejo, the atmosphere transforms into something electric.

Festival performances often carry a different energy compared to standalone arena shows. In Lisbon, the band won’t just perform — they will headline a global event.

Other Events Happening in Lisbon This Summer

If you’re traveling to Lisbon for the concert, consider extending your stay. The city is packed with summer events, open-air festivals, cultural celebrations, and major concerts throughout June and July.

You can explore a complete overview of concerts, festivals, and seasonal highlights on the official page here:
👉 What’s happening in Lisbon?

Lisbon rarely slows down in summer — from riverside festivals to historic neighborhood celebrations, there’s always something happening.

First Time in Lisbon? Here’s What You Should Know

If this is your first visit, Lisbon will surprise you in the best possible way.

☀️ Expect warm weather – June evenings are perfect for outdoor festivals.
🚋 Public transport is efficient – Metro and buses connect Parque Tejo with central Lisbon.
👟 Wear comfortable shoes – The city’s hills and cobblestones are beautiful but demanding.
🍴 Taste the essentials – Pastéis de nata, grilled sardines, fresh seafood, and local vinho verde.
🌅 Don’t miss sunset viewpoints – Miradouros offer spectacular city views.

For a full city overview — attractions, transportation, neighborhoods, and travel tips — the comprehensive Lisbon Guide is the ideal starting point.

Why Lisbon Is a Perfect Festival Destination

Parque Tejo offers space and atmosphere few European capitals can match. At the same time, Lisbon’s historic center — Alfama, Baixa, Chiado, and Belém — is only a short journey away.

Before the concert, you might explore:

Belém’s monumental architecture

Alfama’s narrow streets and Fado heritage

A riverfront walk along the Tagus

Rooftop terraces with panoramic city views

After the concert? Late-night dining and music continue long into the Lisbon night.

A Key Moment on the 2026 European Tour

With Santiago de Compostela behind them and Madrid immediately ahead, the 21 June 2026 Rock in Rio Lisboa show is strategically placed at the heart of Linkin Park’s Southern European tour.

It is not just another tour date — it is a headline festival moment in one of Europe’s most vibrant summer cities.

Secure your tickets, plan your Lisbon adventure, and prepare for a night where tens of thousands of voices become one.

Lisbon is ready. 🎶🔥

We hope you will find the perfect accommodation for you and those you will travel together with.

How can I travel to the festival area?

The coolest way to get to the festival area is by boat. You can travel by boat from Belem and then stay on the boat until you arrive at Trafaria. You will still need to do some walking but it is a quite convenient and nice way to get to the festival area. Another option is to travel by taxi.

What else should I do in Lisbon?

There are lots of fantastic attractions in Lisbon. If you are in the festival area, you are not extremely far from the world-famous Christ statue in Lisbon, so you should visit it when you have the time. Another popular activity is the trips on the Tejo River. The castle in the center of Lisbon is also fantastic, and anyone leaving Lisbon without using the popular tram lines has to return once again to the city. You can read more about all these attractions and activities in our Lisbon Guide.

Lisbon is a city defined by its light, its hills, and an undeniable sense of saudade—a deep, soulful longing. It is the perfect backdrop for The Weeknd, an artist who has spent his career masterfully blending melancholy with high-octane pop energy. As Abel Tesfaye brings his global tour to the Portuguese capital, the city is bracing for a weekend where the historic cobblestones of Alfama meet the futuristic synth-pop of After Hours and Dawn FM.

Whether you are a local fan or a traveler flying in for the show, a concert in Lisbon is more than just a musical event; it’s an invitation to experience one of Europe’s most vibrant cultural hubs at its peak summer energy.

Concert Info in Lisbon (Quick Details)

To ensure you don’t miss a beat of the performance, here are the essential details for the upcoming shows in Portugal:

Venue: Estadio do Restelo

Venue Capacity: ~20,000

Concert Dates: Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6, 2026

Tickets: Buy tickets on Viagogo

Viagogo is a leading secondary ticket marketplace, providing a secure platform for fans to buy and sell tickets even after official primary outlets have sold out. It is an excellent resource for catching high-demand shows like The Weeknd when availability is limited.

Savoring the Lisbon Vibe: Beyond the Stadium

While the concert is the main event, Lisbon offers an intoxicating mix of history and modern nightlife that demands exploration. Before heading to Estadio do Restelo, take some time to immerse yourself in the city’s unique flavor.

Must-See Attractions:

Belém Tower & Jerónimos Monastery: Located very close to the concert venue in the Belém district, these UNESCO World Heritage sites represent Portugal’s Age of Discovery and offer stunning Manueline architecture.

Tram 28: For the quintessential Lisbon experience, hop on the historic yellow Tram 28. It squeaks through the narrow, winding streets of Alfama, offering a DIY tour of the city’s oldest neighborhood.

A Taste of Portugal: You cannot visit Lisbon without indulging in its culinary treasures. Grab a warm pastéis de nata (custard tart) from the famous Pastéis de Belém—pro tip: sprinkle it with cinnamon and powdered sugar. For dinner, look for a local tasca serving bacalhau (salted cod) prepared in one of its hundreds of styles, or enjoy grilled sardines if you’re visiting during the summer festival season.

From Toronto Mixtapes to Global Dominance

The Weeknd’s journey to the stage at Estadio do Restelo is one of the most compelling arcs in modern music. Long before he was a Super Bowl halftime performer, Abel Tesfaye was a shadowy figure in the Toronto underground.

In 2011, he released a trilogy of mixtapes—House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence—that redefined R&B. At the time, his identity was a mystery; he let the music, characterized by its atmospheric production and raw lyricism, speak for itself. Seeing him perform today, alongside special guests like Playboi Carti for the European leg, is a testament to how his “anonymous” beginnings blossomed into an era-defining career. Lisbon, with its own history of Fado (emotional, soulful music), is the ideal European stage to witness this evolution.

Pro-Traveler Tips for Lisbon

Lisbon is an incredibly popular destination, especially during the concert season. If you plan on visiting museums like the MAAT or taking the lift at Santa Justa, be sure to book your tickets online in advance. The city is famous for its hills, so wear comfortable shoes—those “Instagrammable” tiles (calçada) can be surprisingly slippery!

For more information on the full tour itinerary, including dates in Madrid and Barcelona just prior to the Lisbon shows, you can find the full list at https://www.theweeknd.com/tour/.
